Tempoyak is a dish that originated from the fermented durian fruit. Tempoyak is a food which is usually consumed as a side dish of rice friends. Tempoyak can also be eaten directly (this is rarely done, because many are not resistant to acidity and aromas of tempoyak itself). In addition, tempoyak used as a spice in cooking.

Flavors of Tempoyak was surly, because the fermentation process in durian flesh into raw materials. Tempoyak known in Indonesia (especially in Palembang, Lampung and Kalimantan) and Malaysia. In Palembang itself, the food is eaten with chicken. In Lampung, Tempoyak harpoon into the ingredients in a dish or mixture in the sauce.
